Museum of RAF Firefighting

Located at RAF Scampton and adjacent to the RAF Scampton Heritage Centre, the Museum of RAF Firefighting is Britain’s only museum dedicated to military firefighting.

This privately owned collection tells the fascinating story of military firefighting from the beginning of the 20th Century up to the present day.

Visiting the Museum of RAF Firefighting

  • The Museum of RAF Firefighting is set in the hanger that housed the Blue Steel Missile, Britain’s nuclear deterrent during the Cold War.
  • There are over 40 vehicles on display.
  • Your visit to the Museum of RAF Firefighting will take the form of a guided tour. As RAF Scampton is an active airbase, you will not be allowed to wander about by yourself for security reasons.
