The Cheese Society

The Cheese Society is a quirky little café that is a favourite lunchtime destination with locals. It is bright and airy, and has a warm and intimate atmosphere that makes eating there a very enjoyable experience.

As its name implies, cheese plays an important role in The Cheese Society menu – from souffles, tartiflettes and raclettes to specialist cheese platters, it’s a cheese-lovers paradise! However, there are plenty of excellent meat, fish and vegetartian options available, plus a frequently changing Specials Blackboard. Mouth-watering starters and scrumptious puddings are also on offer – you can get two and three course meal deals which are good for the purse, if not for the waist-line!

Local beers and ciders, and an extensive wine list, complement the fantastic food.

There are always several delicious Vegetarian and Gluten Free dishes on the menu, all of which are clearly marked.

Breakfast at The Cheese Society is another treat that we can thoroughly recommend – our favourite is creamy porridge followed by The Cheese Society’s free range eggs, bacon and Lincolnshire sausage. Totally scrumptious!

Since the cafe is quite small and seating is limited, The Cheese Society does not take reservations or advanced booking – if you want to avoid  having to wait for a table, it’s always best to get there at noon or after 2pm. However, you may still be lucky and get a table straight away if you turn up in the middle of the lunch-hour rush.

The staff at The Cheese Society are friendly, attentive and helpful – nothing is too much trouble for them – which all adds to the pleasurable dining experience.

The Cheese Society Shop

The Cheese Society has a fantastic specialist cheese shop at nearby 28 The Strait, which is well worth visiting (just ask your waiter for directions).

As well selling wonderful artisan cheeses from across Britain and Europe, it also sells the finest local Lincolnshire produce, including organic eggs, Lincolnshire sausages, home-made chutneys and award-winning bread.

You can even order a cheese wedding cake!
